The woodwork group meets regularly on Tuesday mornings, although members also access the wood shed on other days to undertake various activities. These can include projects commissioned by other community groups, as well as personal activities with a number of people active in the areas of wood-turning and box-making. Some examples of projects are shown below. The more experienced members of the group run short courses on specific topics, and are happy to mentor those new to the field.
Two violin stands manufactured for Kenmore High School's music group
A batch of possum boxes under manufacture for local wildlife carers
One of a number of street libraries made for local communities
One of several toy conveyors manufactured for a local school
A red cedar box made during a recent course focussed on using the Gifkin dovetail jig
